I wanted to know how a diamond would be determined in it’s value and this is what I found out.  I looked at a video where John Cordova was explaining how one could determine the most expensive diamond and the not so expensive.

Here is what I understood him to explain,  he told the listener of the video that there was no way that you could tell how much less an expensive cut diamond per carat would cost because it was not determinable.

In the information that John Cordova was giving in the video was that even though he said that the less expensive cut diamond was undeterminable because the most that it would yield is very little from the rough.  

It is determined though that the most expensive cut diamonds per carat is said to be the Ideal diamond that is of a round shape and is said to yield around 30% from the rock.

I wanted to know what the best resell diamond would bring on the market and John said that it would be pretty hard to predict, because it would depend on the diamond.

Then I moved on to find out what the most popular diamonds where and he said that they are the Brilliant Round Cuts that have been popular for quiet a few years now. Here are some of the most popular diamond cuts.  

These are the cuts in diamonds that are done in more fancy shapes, one is said to be the Asscher diamond that was named after the Asscher Brothers of Holland. The Asscher cut is called the stepped square cut diamond three tiers high that is known as the square emerald cut, it also has what is known as cropped corner.

The Emerald is another diamond cut. The diamond princess cut that has been around for many years are still popular.
